Facebook said that the billions of accounts it removed over the six-month period were “never considered active,” so they did not count toward the company’s total number of monthly active users, a figure that investors track closely to chart Facebook’s popularity and growth. In the first quarter of this year, Facebook reported that it had 2.3 billion monthly active users.

In south Asia and Indian subcontinent the most of these fake accounts are handled by Pak intelligence agencies. Spreading ethnic hatred and encouraging terrorism and extremism.

Is Facebook falling out of favour? I have seen a lot of reports of customers - yes the ones that provide content for FB - no longer accepting FB draconian policies and IMO FB need a change in strategy, policy, staff and culture if they are not to become irrelevant. Discuss.
