Facebook isn't equipped to police hate speech in all of the 100 languages on its platform. That's dangerous.

For years, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg touted his mission to connect the entire world — and his company has come closer than perhaps any other to fulfilling that lofty goal, with more than 3 billion monthly users across its various platforms. But that staggering global expansion has come at a cost.

Facebook's own researchers have repeatedly warned that the company appears ill-equipped to address issues such as hate speech and misinformation in languages other than English, potentially making users in some of the most politically unstable countries more vulnerable to real-world violence, according to internal documents viewed by CNN.

Hate Speech could be restricted if accounts ain't opened blindly on redundant email 🆔s. The KYC is badly required to be in force online social media platforms. Fake clients should be ostracized once & for all.

We are very confused how could people be attacking Facebook and other social sites when they have to manually download these apps.WHY ARE PEOPLE ACTING LIKE THESE APPS ARE FORCING THEM TO DOWNLOAD THEIR APP

Facebook doesn't police hate speech in any language. People have innocuous posts removed and get posting bans while actual hate speech 'does not violate' their community standards.

What about twitter

There's a joke buried in this. There are many jokes buried in this.

Facebook's language gaps weaken screening of hate, terrorismAs the Gaza war raged and tensions surged across the Middle East last May, Instagram briefly banned the hashtag AlAqsa, a reference to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem’s Old City, a flash point in the conflict. Facebook, which owns Instagram, later apologized, explaining its algorithms had mistaken the third-holiest site in Islam for the militant group Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, an armed offshoot of the secular Fatah party. For many Arabic-speaking users, it was just the latest potent example of how the social media giant muzzles political speech in the region. Yahoo banned all comments on their articles over a year ago because people weren't pro-socialist enough. So shut it, you're not going to be an authority on censorship.
