Malaysia's new government would not be willing to accept even compensation of $3 billion from Goldman Sachs in a settlement over the 1MDB scandal, the finance minister told Reuters, ruling out a figure that is far higher than the bank offered last year.

The Southeast Asian nation has charged Goldman Sachs and 17 current and former directors of its units for allegedly misleading investors over bond sales totaling $6.5 billion that the U.S. bank helped raise for sovereign wealth fund 1MDB . “We are continuing our pursuit to get some money from GS. And the legal case is still ongoing, so we will have to wait for the outcome of that,” the minister said in an interview in his office in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.

It's Not Enough to Quit Your JobAcross the country, white people are being called on to use their power and privilege to lift up black people—by hiring them, promoting them, and in some cases actively relinquishing power. In a particularly bold reflection of this stance, Alexis Ohanian announced that he will step down from his seat on the board of Reddit, the company he founded with two other young white men in 2005. \n Right behind you, . Should he also flagellate until you are appeased? Also he quit his 'job' at reddit long ago. What he is quitting now is a very powerful sit on the board or directors and asking that he be replaced by a black woman or man. Its not something he can enforce but he's cleared the way.
