How do you top a new Star Wars trailer? By bringing an old member of the family back into the fold. After the Disney+ seriesdebuted its first trailer, Lucasfilm head head Kathleen Kennedy strolled back out on the D23 stage in Anaheim Friday for one last surprise.
Ewan McGregor came out to Star Wars music to confirm, once and for all, that he is playing Obi-Wan Kenobi in an upcoming Disney+ series. McGregor noted after years of having to play coy in interviews, it finally felt good to say it out loud.Kennedy said that the scripts for Obi-Wan were completed, and they would be shooting next year.
Earlier, Kennedy brought out executive producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni. Favreau touted it as being similar to his 2008 filmThe eight-episode first season of will debut on Nov. 12 when Disney+ launches.
