Ethereum fees have dropped to the lowest level in almost a year

Ethereum gas fees are denominated in giga wei . Users have to pay them in order to be able to perform any activity on top of the Ethereum blockchain.Earlier this month, Ethereum fees experienced a huge increase due to the implosion of Terra despite the fact that the Ether price saw a huge decline

After TerraUSD lost its peg, users started transferring more Ethereum-based centralized stablecoins. Tether and Circle’s USDC briefly became the biggest gas guzzlers on the Ethereum network.Ethereum continues to face criticism for having high transaction fees. Its lack of scaling has led to the emergence of such competing blockchains as Avalanche and Solana.

That said, Ethereum is expected to solve the aforementioned issue with the help of sharding after the merge., co-founder Vitalik Buterin predicted that Ethereum 2.0, the proof-of-stake iteration of the second-largest blockchain, could end up being launched as soon as August. Apart from eliminating high gas fees, the merge is also expected to drastically reduce Ethereum’s energy consumption.

For Americans, 2021 delivered healthiest finances in 8 yearsAmericans' financial health reached its highest level in nearly a decade last year, the Federal Reserve said Monday, spurred by a strong job market and government support payments. Almost eight in 10 adults said last fall that they were either “doing okay or living comfortably” when it came to their finances in 2021, according to an annual Fed survey, the highest proportion to say so since the survey began in 2013. The survey of 11,000 adults was taken last October and November, when inflation had topped 6% year-over-year, though before Russia's invasion of Ukraine pushed gas and food prices sharply higher. Hmmmm, so let’s end those support payments? Not “Americans’” - only the demographics that make over $100,000 and are single.
