'My mom is my rock.' A woman who was missing her mom while apart due to the coronavirus pandemic had an idea as she passed a fire truck in a parking lot. She asked the firefighters to lift her to her mom's nursing home window—using the truck's ladder.

"We got to the stop sign and I said, 'Jessica stop, turn in here.' She said, 'Why?' I said, 'I'm going to ask them to see if they'll take me up there.'"

Tomlins immediately got on his cellphone and relayed the unusual request to Fire Chief Frankie Pruitt, who called the nursing home and got permission to fulfill Carmine's request, she said. Shirl Carmine, who hadn't seen her 83-year-old mother, Shirley, in months, talked a fire department crew into putting her into a tower bucket ladder and lifting her up to her mom's second-story nursing home window, in Crisfield, MD., July 5, 2020.

"I don't think we've ever put someone in a bucket to take them up to see their loved one before, but I guess that's the sign of the times," Tomlins told ABC News, adding that Firefighter Robert Hunt assisted in the special call."I'm glad we could assist.

Great story - the only downside is that one of the worst songs the Rolling Stones ever recorded is now reverberating around my head.

Why can't you have more news articles like this one, and less of the hate filled political ones? I have overdosed on politics and the subtle bias of news anchor's language, and sometimes not hidden bias. In this entire country, you can't find more nice inspiring stories?

Bravo!Brave hearts.

Maybe so, but Dwayne Johnson is still 'the' Rock.

Working Moms Are Being Fired For Being Working MomsOn top of managing childcare and the demands of work during a pandemic, working moms now have additional stress to cope with—the increased risk of being fired for having kids. In a lawsuit filed recently, San Diego resident Drisana Rios alleges that her former employer, Hub International, fired her because her kids were being kids and making noise while she was on work calls. Huh, strange that dads get to go viral when that happens! What ever happened to the good old days of mothers being homemakers? I don’t see why that’s basically become illegal these days. My mother handled laundry and such while my father sold business suits and we were always well fed and turned into upstanding tax paying citizens
