Those who tuned in for the Emmy Awards Sunday night didn't see a few famous faces in the In Memoriam segment, including Nick Cordero, Kobe Bryant and Kelly Preston."For those wondering: The Emmys chose to leave Nick Cordero out of the memorial montage,"on Twitter Monday."I had no idea one had to campaign to get their loved one in. We did. They passed."
Cordero was best known for his work on Broadway, but as Braff added in a follow-up tweet," was on the show 'Blue Bloods.'" Braff also shared a statement he said was"From the Emmys," which stated:"Those involved in the In Memoriam selection process are very aware of the sad passing of Mr. Cordero due to coronavirus and we assure that his name has been given every consideration for inclusion."
The statement continued,"With so many people passing in any given year, we simply cannot ensure any particular individual is included, nor do we release the names included prior to the telecast.""They also left out Sam Lloyd. I would have never even considered 'campaigning' for Sam because he had more TV credits than most actors I know,"
Throughout his career, Lloyd appeared on several hit shows, including"Desperate Housewives,""Modern Family,""Shameless" and"Malcolm in the Middle."Others on social media called out the exclusion of,"am i the only one confused as to why kobe wasnt a part of the in memoriam section??? he was literally involved in the film industry and even has an emmy governors award.
They always have puzzling omissions. They left out Bob Newhart last year for example. I wonder who they’ll leave out next year. Richard Simmons? Nichelle Nichols?
This is utter bullshit it’s their telecast they can make the segment as long as they want
Nick was a Broadway actor and Kobe and Kelly film. None of them tv and as for the scrubs guy? Are you kidding? A series ten years ago and a minor player? How about they read off all the names of the 200k who died of Covid-19?
None of them were ever on tv. Broadway and film yes. The scrubs guy from a series ten years ago? Who cared? His character was grating.
