tressiemcphd I don’t remember a lot school assemblies but Wynton Marsalis came to our school and not only played great jazz but gave one of the most inspiring speeches I had heard up until that point.

This has been a sad year for jazz greats. First McCoy Tyner, then Wallace Roney and now the patriarch ofthe Marsalis dynasty, Ellis Marsalis. They all will be missed GREATLY!!! Rest in Peace, Mr. Marsalis.
