Retired New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning is returning to the only pro organization he's ever been a part of, but in a much different role.

Giants team president and CEO John Mara, who always left the door open for Manning to return in some capacity, expressed delight that the former quarterback agreed to join the club in his new role.

"Eli is one of the most beloved players in Giants history. We had a mutual interest in him returning to the organization and we're thrilled to welcome him back,” Mara said in a team-issued statement. "Eli is the ultimate team player and will be a huge addition to the organization as we continue to elevate and strengthen our business operation," added Giants chairman and executive vice president Steve Tisch.

Manning, a New Orleans native who has adopted New Jersey as his young family’s home, had hoped to be a regular visitor to the team’s East Rutherford headquarters following his retirement. Unfortunately, with the COVID-19 pandemic hitting, Manning’s visits to the team facility were limited. "It's incredibly exciting to be back," Manning said."Staying involved with this organization is very important to me. I love the organization, love the Giants and the fans, and so I want to do anything possible to help them out and be a part of it.
