KIMANA, Kenya, March 3 - The majestic sight of elephants roaming beneath Mount Kilimanjaro has long lured throngs of wildlife-lovers to Amboseli National Park on Kenya’s border with Tanzania.

Kenyan agricultural company KiliAvo Fresh Ltd, which has farms near Amboseli on nearly 175 acres of land, is building nurseries and preparing to grow the fruit, whose popularity is growing worldwide due to its high nutritional value. They say the plans and an electric fence on the farm will block the crucial Kimana Wildlife Corridor where elephants move between Amboseli, the Tsavo and Chyulu Hills parks, and strangle one of the region’s most beloved and important safari parks.

However, the National Environment Management Agency ordered work halted last September and said it wanted to revoke the EIA. KiliAvo has challenged that in Kenya’s environmental tribunal, where the case is pending, according to CM Advocates LLP, the law firm representing them. “We can’t just say to the elephants: ‘Would you mind not going that way because we have decided that we are going to do stuff here?’” said Vicki Fishlock, a scientist working for the Amboseli Elephant Trust group.

KiliAvo’s lawyers said the farm was actually 17 km away from Amboseli in an area designated for farming. Further, the company had employed 300 local residents, provided training and technology, proposed improving fresh water facilities and helped renovate a school, CM Advocates LLP said.

Where’s the dillema? Human population can survive without their avocados. It’s not like we are dire need of guacs

Oh gee.....should it be a animal or avocado.....!?!?!?!🤢🤬🤢🤬🤢🤬

“Man, do not pride yourself on your superiority to the animals, for they are without sin, while you, with all your greatness, you defile the earth wherever you appear and leave an ignoble trail behind you -- and that is true, alas, for almost every one of us' Fyodor Dostoyevsky

I love 🥑 but 🐘 for the win! I will give up eating avocados if that's what it takes.

So hard to choose the thing that mourns it’s dead, or a fruit.

What a strange dilemma to have!

No dilemma elephants it is then

Avocados are good, but leave it to the rest of the world. Elephants are majestic and so loving, with long memories.

Orando por mais um dia bom na vida dos que com amor mudarão o mundo, pois Deus Pai Filho e Espírito Santo prometeu amar guardar e livrar o seu povo da fome, da peste, e da espada.

Personally, I'm going with the avocados. They are edible, and they rarely stampede.

Elephants

Elephants!

I had elephant toast....not good.
