Broadway reopens to the public with 'Pass Over,' a play that was sold out. New rules dictate that vaccines and masks are mandatory for all who enter theatres

People in surgical masks walk through Manhattan's Broadway theatre district after Broadway shows announced they will cancel performances due to the coronavirus outbreak in New York City on March 12, 2020.

The first Broadway play since the coronavirus pandemic shut down theatres in New York City in 2020 opened with vaccinations and masks required for audiences. "Pass Over," a modern twist on "Waiting for Godot," was sold out for its first preview at the August Wilson Theatre in Manhattan. The play, by Antoinette Chinonye Nwandu, is the tale of two young Black men who stand for hours at a street corner praying that a miracle will come their way.

Didn’t make it 2 steps inside the theater before crying, so tonight is about to be hella emotional. First show back on Broadway after the most devastating year and a half. Happy first preview
