Dua Lipa has been on a Wild West tear since her music video “Love Again” dropped last week, in which we saw the pop star gyrating in a cow-print bikini top and riding a bull—all while wearing a cowboy hat that magically didn’t budge. The sexified ranch look has seemed to transfer to her own personal style, too. Yesterday, she Instagrammed herself in a cropped, checked Miu Miu button-up top, a red bikini top, short denim shorts, and a pair of knee-high cowboy boots.
This is reminiscent of Madonna’s cowgirl phase from 2000 with her hit “Don’t Tell Me,” in which she wore a full Dsquared2 look and line-danced in the sand. Even years later, Madonna wore the hat as a statement. But, of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen the Western look make a trendy resurgence, either. Two summers ago, the likes of Lil Nas X, Diplo, Miley Cyrus, and Lizzo all opted for cowboy hats and gear.
