Stocks saw a mixed finish Thursday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average posting a small loss and the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite building on the previous session's record close as investors weighed President Joe Biden's efforts to ramp up COVID-19 vaccine efforts and parsed fourth-quarter

corporate earnings. The Dow DJIA, -0.04% fell around 12 points, or less than 0.1%, to end near 12,899, according to preliminary figures, while the S&P 500 SPX, +0.03% rose by around 1 point to end near 3,853. The Nadaq Composite COMP, +0.55% gained around 74 points, or 0.5%, finishing near 13,531.
