Dodgers pound punchless Padres

And playing the team they are chasing only makes them look even more like they’re running in reverse.

Their ninth consecutive loss at Dodger Stadium dropped the Padres 4½ games behind L.A. in the National League West standings.in the major leagues in runs scored and have the fewest home runs among any team in the top 18. On one hand, that’s an impressive testament to their ability to scrap together runs.
