Ideally, our head and heart should work together. This week, in observance of Valentine’s Day, let us start by celebrating the benefits of heart-driven leadership.One of the high dividends of leading from the heart, notes the Harvard Business Review, is that it is an especially effective way of cultivating trust. Trust has always been the glue for any successful team or organization. This is truer than ever in a time of constant change and disruption.

Psychological safety flourishes in teams with high emotional intelligence—where leaders are attuned to their emotions and sensitive to those of others, while emotional intelligence is sometimes dismissed as a “soft” skill, Google concluded that what distinguishes its best teams are the emotional skills that contribute to psychological safety.
