Disney World Hopes To Reopen July 11—With New Precautions In Place

Orange County officials conducted an inspection of Walt Disney World and SeaWorld on Wednesday to ensure that the parks could comply with official guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention when they do reopen, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Precautions include things like utilizing cell phone park maps rather than shared park maps to avoid shared surfaces, mandatory masks, temperature checks and measures for social distancing and increased handwashing by both employees and guests. The closure of Orlando’s Disney World due to the coronavirus pandemic is the longest the park has ever been closed. Disney is the largest employer in the region and the pandemic has left hundreds of thousands in the area out of work.
