Technically, every gun is a certain part that has a serial number and counts as the firearm as a whole. This is why you can buy a shotgun that comes with two barrels, for instance. Changing the barrel is changing a part on the gun, not a different gun.

I love it. It's a spectrum. On one side is a hunk of metal... on the other is a fully functioning firearm. You can't even define where on that spectrum the law should apply. This is why I am starting to 3D print my own parts and manufacture my own arms. You can't stop it.
