Eviction ban advocates in Congress would likely face insurmountable hurdles if they tried to revive the moratorium.

About 7.9 million people reported they were not caught up on rent in the most recent Census Bureau survey, conducted in late July and early August. | Elise Amendola/AP PhotoMore than 60 House Democrats on Friday demanded that congressional leaders work to revive a national eviction moratorium, after the Supreme Court blocked a ban imposed by the Biden administration.

Pelosi on Friday slammed the Supreme Court for “immorally” halting the ban, calling the decision "arbitrary and cruel." Bush, who signed Friday's letter, was instrumental in pressuring Biden to bring back the moratorium earlier this month after the previous iteration expired July 31. She led a sit-in on the Capitol steps to protest its expiration.

Speaker Pelosi on House members’ Kabul visit: ‘We do not want members to go’House Speaker Nancy Pelosi criticized Reps. Seth Moulton, D-Mass., and Peter Meijer, R-Mich., for their unauthorized visit to Kabul amid evacuations, stating the situation is deadly serious, and that she doesn’t believe the congressmen had committee approval on the Democratic side. It's probably safer for errant lawmakers in Kabul than in Pelosi's Washington. Hope there will be consequences for the Meijer and Moultan! Grandstanding during a dangerous military operation is not helpful! It's not just these two that took seats away from innocent people fleeing the Taliban, it's the troup of aids, assistants, and security. Each Congressman requires at least two or more security. Probably at least 6 support people for each each. More? That's the issue!!

Supreme Court Blocks New Eviction MoratoriumThe action represents a legal blow against the ban the Biden administration imposed this month despite questions about its legality. I am all for helping people. However, The ban on evictions should never have lasted this long. It will only make the situation 1000x worst than it would have been if this were short term as intended. Sadly, I expect it will be horrible in some areas. What Kavanaugh said earlier
