A new study finds that deaths in New York City in the early part of the Covid-19 pandemic were comparable to deaths in the city at the peak of what's considered the deadliest pandemic to date -- the flu pandemic of 1918.

Fed study: 1918 flu deaths linked to relative strength of NazismThe relative increase in deaths during the early period of the Covid-19 pandemic was actually substantially greater than during the peak of the 1918 pandemic, according to the study published Thursday in JAMA Network Open.

"We don't need to wait until the end of it to look back and see that these events are similar in magnitude," Faust said."What I am driving home here is, that if we don't do something, if we don't take this really seriously, we very much a year from now, could be looking at those same numbers we saw from 1918."

And nowhere near as bad as nursing homes let Cumo killed

Very sad. My heart goes out to the families who have lost their loved ones.

So many American are in denial and delusion, treating COVID19 like a flu😂 worst country in the world, not fit to be world leader!

Corona: 21 million cases (less than 0.0000003% of population) + 750.000 deaths Spanish flu: 500 million cases (about 33% of population) + 50 million deaths Bubonic plague: unknown number of cases and 200 million deaths (more than 40% of population) VERY COMPARABLE NUMBERS YES

💥💥💥💥💥

With almost 4 times less population. Other than the Cuomo disastrous nursing home decision what you’re saying is the coronavirus hasn’t been nearly as bad as the Spanish flu. That’s good to know, What a relief.

MURDERING GREASEBALL NYGovCuomo killed THOUSANDS

Don't let the incompetent and crazy government brainwash you dear Americans. This is very serious health crisis worldwide. And only second wave is coming (there could be much more waves until vaccine will come..) Good luck!

That's so bad 😢

And yet, for some odd reason, the media never blames any of the democrat leaders of NY for the deaths. It seems that if the leaders are democrats, the media goes up the chain of command until they find a republican.

Trump almost blew a gasket trying to mention that crisis in context. Totally obfuscated his responsibility regarding our crisis. AWOL from the start. Bone spur acting up.

Unsurprising that Coronavirus deaths in New York matched Spanish Flu deaths. Important to understand the times & the virus differ from that previous pandemic. Coronavirus still confuses & confounds medical science, it has broader health implications than any previous pandemic.

Always a new study. Conducted by who and sponsored by who? The gullible will believe whatever are churning out. Don't believe the Doom's day prophets.

Can yall stop with the fear mongering! Stop counting suicides, car wrecks, murders, etc. as covid deaths. Stop incentivizing hospitals to falsify 's. Florida has multiple hospitals that have been caught falsifying their numbers. Ex: 98% positivity rate that was actually 9%.

Most due to bad decisions by the governor.

So after more than a hundred years, the US epidemic prevention is still very bad?

and people still call it a 'hoax' ffs 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
