BREAKING: Chinese authorities announce large jump in death toll in recent floods to more than 300 people.

Chinese authorities have announced a huge jump in the death toll from recent floods. The Henan province government said Monday, Aug. 1, 2021, that over 300 people died and at least 50 remain missing.

The Henan provincial government said 302 people died and 50 remain missing. The vast majority of the victims were in Zhengzhou, the provincial capital, where 292 died and 47 are missing. Ten others died in three other cities, officials said at a news conference.

Funny how floods in Germany are due to climate change, but floods in China, where 23 of the 25 most polluting cities in the world are - accounting for almost 50% of worldwide emissions - are just bad weather.
