Dead pregnant woman found in home of man accused of killing store clerk, police say

Montgomery County Police Chief Marcus Jones said a man charged in the killing of a gas station clerk had the body of a decomposed pregnant woman in his apartment. Police searching the apartment of a man suspected in the killing of a convenience store employee this week in Maryland discovered the body of woman who is believed to have been eight months pregnant and dead for at least a month, police said Friday.

and police say Moore told investigators he had been in a relationship with the woman found in his home.The woman’s body was “in an advanced stage of decomposition,” Montgomery Police Chief Marcus Jones said at a news conference Friday afternoon. Few details were released about how she died. Jones said investigators have a lot of work to do on the case.

“The suspect appeared to have a conversation with the victim and then picked up several items from on top of the counter and threw them at the victim,” police wrote in court papers. “The victim picked up a pole and attempted to strike the suspect. The suspect then backed up and produced a handgun and fired at the victim. The victim fell down behind the register. The suspect then approached the counter, leaned over and fired several more shots into the victim’s body.
