special “The Closer” in a new standup video, saying that he is willing to meet with the transgender employees of the streamer. However, Chappelle remained unapologetic about the contents of the special, which some accused of containing transphobic and homophobic remarks, saying: “I said what I said.”

“It’s been said in the press that I was invited to speak to the transgender employees of Netflix and I refused. That is not true — if they had invited me I would have accepted it, although I am confused about what we would be speaking about,” Chappelle said in the video. “I said what I said, and boy, I heard what you said. My God, how could I not? You said you want a safe working environment at Netflix. It seems like I’m the only one who can’t go to the office.”

Chappelle further claimed that the situation was about “corporate interests” and said that the members of the LGBTQ+ community that he knows have been supportive of him.“I want everyone in this audience to know that even though the media frames it that it’s me versus that community, that’s not what it is. Do not blame the LGBTQ community for any of this. It’s about corporate interests, and what I can say, and what I cannot say,” Chappelle said. “For the record, and I need you to know this, everyone I know from that community has been loving and supportive, so I don’t know what this nonsense is about.” headtopics.com

Chappelle also spoke about his upcoming documentary about his summer 2020 shows, saying, “This film that I made was invited to every film festival in the United States. Some of those invitations I accepted. When this controversy came out about ‘The Closer’, they began disinviting me from these film festivals. And now, today, not a film company, not a movie studio, not a film festival, nobody will touch this film. Thank God for Ted Sarandos and Netflix, he’s the only one that didn’t cancel me yet.”

If someone is willing to communicate it’s because they’re willing to listen. The fact this is dragged out into the open press for so long just shows me how bullshit Netflix employees are being about the situation. This could’ve been handled entirely in private. I love Dave chappelle and respect trans people rights and just loving the ride in 2021 wow wow what a headline

Did Chappelle's previous special do well? Because I'm beginning to suspect he's deploying the Tucker Max PR strategy where you invent a protest that subsequently materializes and then you capitalize on it. He certainly seems prepared. See also: Milo Y., A. Coulter, etc. Anyone against Chappelle here...you are the problem.

Don't do it!!!! How about the world develop a sense of humour. Too many people walk around with a huge chip on their shoulder. When you have no problems you create problems… it’s comedy get over yourselves Being victim is a new profit in US… all you have to do is cry about how life is hard! Pathetic! Leave Dave Chapelle alone

Because if there’s one issue he hasn’t discussed enough, it’s trans rights. Or he could move the fuck on. Discuss what? He didnt make fun of them, and even if he did its a comedy show, thats what comedians do. No one can laugh anymore? Americans have gotten so soft

Dave Roberts 'expecting, hoping' he can work out contract extension with Dodgers“I know I got another year left and it’s just kind of expecting, hoping, that they come to me and we can work something out, I guess,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told jorgecastillo. “And, if not, you just kind of do your job and play out the contract.” jorgecastillo It may be time to move on. wow

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Welp. Ain’t nobody coming then, because Hannah Gadsby’s fucking hilarious. I mean this with my whole black soul F Dave Chappelle and his wealthy republic black boomer hotep yet I live in a glass house azz. I say that with my whole chest. Love Dave. Free Speech above all. All the trans employees asked was that there was a disclaimer put before his specials, not that they be taken down, nor did they ask he not be allowed on the platform anymore. They are not asking him to bend to their will, just have the tiniest bit of decency.

Wow! I love Chappelle, but this guy seems like someone else. Maybe he's drinking too much or hanging with Ye has his mind spinning. He really comes off as an old guy complaining about 'woke' culture. Like Trump telling us how many black people like him. Very disappointed. Note that Ashlee Marie Preston is not a Netflix employee and has a history of anti-Asian racist comments.

Honestly I’m not shocked he’s transphobic. It’s gross that so many are okay with it. But also not shocked, a lot of bigots out there. Get over it already.... so over it.... Another reason Netflix should kick his ass to the curb.

Opinion | Black cowboys were common. Why did 'The Harder They Fall' take so long?New Netflix Western 'The Harder They Fall' has all the components that make the genre iconic. But it also offers something that many Westerns have lacked — the truth. I don't get it from the review.... Is this film any good? Or is it praised just because it has all black cast?

Hannah Gadsby’s humor is too sophisticated for Chapelle to understand. HenriettaSnacks also not sure who is so outraged - he didn't say anything that bad - it has to be like the worst kind of disassociative weirdos who wear plastic pants at work that have the time to be so performatively affected by one mans comedy

Chapelle talked about calling someone crazy is dismissive, but is dismissive toward an entire group of people because he has money and he grew up surrounded by toxic ideals. Rather than listen he judged, but now he wants to talk since the boat is rocking he's getting nervous. Sorry but why does have to be cancelled for your Freedom?
