Challenger Camile White will take over Pleasant Grove-area seat as the district looks for new superintendent.

“I’m humbled and I’m honored, at the end of the day, for all the great things that I’ve been able to be a part of,” Garcia said. “I know that the future of DISD is bright.”Over the past week, county election officials have worked through about 500 pending or rejected provisional or mail-in ballots in countywide races, in addition to tallying late arriving mail-in ballots. That process is expected to be completed by 4:30 p.m.

Camile White, pictured here at a 2019 Dallas County Democratic Party Executive Committee Meeting, will soon represent Southeast Dallas, Pleasant Grove and Seagoville on the Dallas Independent School District Board of Trustees.White, a Realtor and former educator, is expected to be seated during the district’s next board meeting on May 26.
