At a news conference Thursday, Cuomo said state health officials will screen any federally approved vaccines. "The first question is, is the vaccine safe? Frankly, I'm not going to trust the federal government's opinion," Cuomo said, adding,"New York state will have its own review when the federal government has finished with their review and says its safe.""We're going to put together a group [of scientists] for them to review the vaccine," Cuomo said, adding that he wouldn't recommend New Yorkers get vaccinated until that state-run process is complete.
