Para ser claros, “Luca”, cuyos mensajes apuntan a la tolerancia y la integración social sin sutileza alguna, no arriesga todo lo que pudo arriesgar al mantener la vista claramente enfocada en la audiencia infantil, y por ese mismo lado, termina siendo bastante predecible; pero es ya original desde el momento en que nos traslada a las costas de Italia (más, precisamente, a un pueblo pesquero ficticio pero muy creíble) para contar una historia que, pese a estar básicamente hablada en inglés (al menos en su versión original), cuenta con una gran sensibilidad mediterránea y nos traslada a un ambiente inusual para las típicas producciones hollywoodenses (a no ser que se cuente a los ‘blockbusters’ de acción en los que los héroes son perseguidos a toda velocidad a lo largo de incontables ciudades europeas).

Curiosamente, esta encantadora cinta (que parece a veces una versión para niños de “The Shape of Water”) no deja de lado la espectacularidad recién señalada, porque tiene de hecho vibrantes escenas de carreras y persecución a través de las estrechas calles del pueblo; pero su corazón se encuentra en la historia de dos criaturas marinas adolescentes que salen a la superficie para tratar de adaptarse al mundo de los humanos y, de paso, ganar un concurso que les permitiría comprar una motocicleta Vespa, lo que constituye un detalle que es, evidentemente, de lo más italiano, como lo es el director debutante Enrico Casarosa. headtopics.com
