During her time cooped up in her apartment in Copenhagen during lockdown in Denmark, Ditte began to think about how working with people had changed and was going to change, and how GANNI could best to continue their global collaborations in a safe, new and inspirational environment.
First and foremost, people’s hopes for 2020 have been crushed by the current pandemic. American journalist Marjon Carlos wrote an essay at the beginning of the year which detailed her hopes for the year/decade ahead - 8 months in, she has answered her original essay, and started an Instagram series which provides advice and a place for people to laugh, cry and comment on society.
Moving upstairs, we were introduced to a room of cardboard cutouts. At first, you recognised that the cardboard women were wearing old GANNI pieces, and as our tour guide explain, British photographer Rosie Marks wanted to give these women their chance to be ‘famous’.
