The eponymous Danish brand, known for their, have once again attempted to shoo the dark depressive months away with a blooming ode to the unapologetically kitsch 80’s fashion. “Grunge Euphoria” dazzles with a “more striking less cutesy” attitude, proving stylish, confident women are still allowed to have a soft spot for bright clothing.
Freedom of expression and finding small pleasures in life seems to be what motivated this collection and the film Stine Goya presented this season; no wonder that David Bowie’s eclectic dressing was taken inspiration from. Some of the typical Goya princess smocks have been replaced with floatier maxi shapes, and pairing those with matching flares is the kind of daring masculine touch I have personally been waiting to see the brand explore.
The orange and lilac pairings will certainly be a favourite among pastel-loving influencers, and I must say it’s an extremely rejuvenating combination. Goya’s typical two-piece obsession continues, providing wacky modern suits for the bold. Floral silks, soft knits and a glint of metallic thread here and there don’t surprise, but accessorising elements such as the clitoris-shaped neck tie and leather gardening gloves in neon lime and periwinkle are a brilliant new touch.
