Covid-19 vaccines are on the way for younger children but at a different dose than teens and adults get. Here's what you need to know.

It's now discussing these findings with the US Food and Drug Administration, and Dr. Scott Gottlieb, a former FDA commissioner who is also on the board of Pfizer who may not have direct knowledge but who certainly has the basis to make an informed guess, says kids 5 and older could be getting Covid-19 shots by the end of October. But the vaccines these younger kids get will almost certainly be different than the shots teens and adults have been getting, at least in terms of the dose.

"If you look at the number of cases, the percentage of cases in the United States over the last couple of weeks, it's been closing in on 30% of the new cases have happened in children under 18. Children under 18 only make up about 20% of the population, so we're actually now having a disproportionate percentage of cases in children," he noted.

Students on cusp of COVID-19 vaccine age requirement wait patiently as 12th birthday approachesWhile medical experts say there is little that can be done for those soon-to-be 12-year-olds until the vaccines are approved for younger people, they say there are some tips that schools and families can take to ensure that each child is safe this year. All parents should teach their young children to take their masks off and throw a fit if a teacher tries to put it on. Then teach the kid what the word “assault” means and to tell you (the parent) if a teacher assaults them ABC are total liars and cannot be trusted Better to stay home a few months than to kill Grandma. Unless you're an antivaxxer, that is. Antivaxxers don't care about Grandma, they figure she's lived long enough and want their inheritance now.

2nd dose of J&J COVID-19 vaccine results in stronger protection, company saysThe new data, announced in a press release, adds to a growing body of evidence suggesting that booster shots could enhance vaccine protection against breakthrough infections -- though experts agree all three vaccines are still doing their job to protect against more serious illness. Compared to the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, Johnson & Johnson's single-shot vaccine always had slightly lower efficacy. Peak efficacy from the two-shot Pfizer and Moderna vaccines was 95% and 94%, respectively, against symptomatic illness. chazkellyisms 🕺 Got my J&J shot over six months ago and still wondering why they’re not talking about boosters for us.
