PROMISING VACCINE NEWS: The first COVID-19 vaccine tested in humans brought about an immune response in every person in the test and did not have significant side effects, researchers report.

Researchers also reported some side effects in the 45 people in the phase I study, but no significant safety issues, the news release says.

The vaccine is among hundreds being tested worldwide in an effort to halt the pandemic that has killed nearly 600,000 worldwide. A researcher testing the vaccine called the results encouraging but cautioned more study is needed. “Importantly, the vaccine resulted in a robust immune response,” Evan Anderson, MD, principal investigator for the trial at Emory University, says in a. Emory and Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute were the two sites for the study.

The company is already testing the vaccine in a larger group of people, known as a phase II trial. It plans to begin phase III trials in late July. Phase III trials involve testing the vaccine on an even larger group and are the final step before FDA approval. The study was led by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases of the National Institutes of Health.Moderna's vaccine uses messenger RNA, also called mRNA.

Trying to kill us all

Buena suerte aquellos inventores que trabajan día y noche para ayudar al mundo ♥️

Negative People that commented here, i dont see you coming up with a vaccine or remedy for the amounts of people passing.

Yet people get the flu vax and still die. People who line up for this are nuts. Cdc sats antibodies die in 12-16 months. So that tells me the vax is garbage

People having to get vaccinated every 3 months?

a promising vaccine to tackle the virus outbreak. Hope that majority of the general population will adopt it...? in the mean time urgent to keep social distancing, ...

What is the long term effect.? Was that enough time to figure out how safe it is? How did you test the immune response? Who were the researchers? We could use some more answers.

What were the side effects? Just wondering

Hopeful 💙

PROMISING?🙄 Love that beginning part though..... 🤒

Nope need more time to determine if there are long term side effects and if it is truly effective in a larger group of the population. I won't believe in it until it has been tested for at least a year or more on a large test group.

Great... So it's being tested and causing an immune response that's great. It is also widely showing moderate side effects right out of the gate... I want to know the long term effect on the body and efficacy against the virus itself.

Wonderful news. Happy days r here again. God bless Moderna

hmmmmm

Bullshit

Some one is going to sell for billions of $, and then we find it is only 40% effective... that was and still is the case with flu vaccines

Ok, so it seemingly worked well on 45 people...

That is great news!

There is still a long way to go about potential side effects.

❤️

What were the 'significant side effects '

🙏🏾

What If COVID Vaccine Arrives and Many Say No?Exactly how Americans will greet a COVID-19 vaccine is unknown, but polls have suggested many will be wary. In an Associated Press survey in late May, only half of respondents said they would get vaccinated. Very interesting point. I never looked at it from this angle. Who would be willing to take it? I think I would be wary as well. If there were scholarly articles on the vaccine I would have to read it first before making a decision. It can't be any worse than Dilantin.
