COVID-19 in a novel virus, which means it's new. Although similar to SARS and MERS, it's wrong to assume it will follow the same path as its coronavirus cousins -- indeed, COVID-19 already has spread far beyond either of them.

If you're going to have a headline that says comparisons between the flu and Coronavirus are wrong, then the headline shouldn't be followed with a table that compares the two.

Using ONLY confirmed and tested cases, the FLU death rate this year in the US is 6.7% (world wide it's around 10%). That's why the CDC 'estimates' how many people had the flu in a season 🙄

“An estimated 35 million Americans were infected last flu season, and about 500,000 were hospitalized.” Why exactly has this not broken the health care system down, whilst Covid is doing, or is feared to do so?

Glad to see mainstream media still ignoring the treatments that are successfully being used to combat the virus.

AircrewBuzz You may want to look at this thread if you want to see if this is 'just the flu'. These are chest X-rays taken from COVID-19 patients. Lungs should be dark (almost black). What do *you* see? They're not. They're almost white. That's lung damage.

When we say it's like the flu were talking respiratory.

pheez98 for next time someone on the forum says something dumb

I'm nearly positive my kid had this in early February. She was sick for 3 weeks! She complained of chest pain and being short of breath. The telemed dr said it was the flu, and proscribed her tamiflu which didn't help in the slightest. Luckily her symptoms were mild.

Airborne Chinese Pneumonia AIDS is certainly much worse than the flu.
