How more female role models in the sports world could inspire younger generations of women in the workplace:

Evidence from the past five years or so has consistently shown that workers with experience of competitive sports have an edge over their non-sporting colleagues.

The following year, economic data showed that student athletes go on to achieve greater professional success than their non-athletic peers, earning anything between five and 15 percent higher salaries. Indeed, our male respondents were much more likely than our female ones to believe that participating in sports boosts their career opportunities. More than half of females were unsure about whether sport was beneficial at all.
