New York As parents and teachers prepare for students to return to classrooms this fall, they're grappling with how much more the most basic school supplies will cost.
From glue, markers, pens and tape to backpacks, sneakers, even underwear, price tags on these necessities have jumped over the last year as inflation makes all kinds of purchases costlier.Families may already be adjusting their household budgets to absorb higher prices, but when everything costs more, it adds up.
If you still have old stuff use it SIMPLE
A suggestion parents. Any leftover supplies from years past that are still in decent shape can be used again. If they haven’t grown out of their clothes, no new ones are necessary. Brown bagged lunches still fill the belly as does PB&J. When prices drop when demand is low; shop!
Most companies are hiking prices, in virtually all industries, following print and other media stories suggesting that there will be little opposition if they do. Corporate profits are incredible.
Why do kids need new supplies every year? It’s a racket. Most kids do not use half the stuff. Another capitalism at work example! Re-use!
