"All the citizens should be cautious in buying imported frozen meat products and aquatic products in recent days," the commission warned the city's 12 million residents. The discovery comes a day after the virus was found on the packaging of the frozen shrimp imported from Ecuador during another routine inspection at a restaurant in the southeast city of Wuhu, health officials there reported.

On Monday, health officials in the port city of Yantai in eastern China said coronavirus was detected on the outer packaging of frozen seafood transported by a foreign ship. It was not clear where the food was imported from.Sign Up

If we stop testing frozen chicken they wont be testing positive. But seriously, none of this makes sense. It says 'on' frozen meat, not in frozen meat? Covid survives freezing? For how long? And again we are testing frozen meat? We cant even test all people!

Some time ago, people infected in Beijing, Tianjin and Liaoning province came into contact with frozen food imported from South America, so god knows where the wuhan outbreak came from.

But wait - is it viable? I thought we've been told all these months that it can only live in any situation for a few days on surfaces, items, etc. Some situations it only lives seconds or minutes. So how viable would it be at that point?
