Trump won Wisconsin in 2016 by fewer than 23,000 votes out of 3 million cast. Today Biden has 52% support among likely voters there, with 46% for Trump -- not a statistically significant difference given the survey's margin of sampling error. In Minnesota, by contrast, Biden holds a clear advantage, 57%-41%, in what's been a hoped-for Trump pickup after his narrow 45,000-vote loss four years ago.

Supporters of President Donald Trump participate in a boat parade on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2020, along the Fox River in Green Bay, Wisc. Trump's gone from a 27-point win among non-college whites in Minnesota four years ago to essentially a dead heat in this group now. And while Hillary Clinton won college-educated whites there by 9 points, Biden's now ahead in this group by 39 points. In Wisconsin, Trump is a non-significant +10 points among non-college whites, vs. +28 points in 2016. And Biden is +23 points among college-educated whites, compared with Clinton's +12.

Seniors also differ from 2016, when they split essentially evenly between Trump and Clinton in both states. Today likely voters age 65 and older divide by 64%-35% for Biden over Trump in Minnesota and by 58%-41% in Wisconsin. In this photo provided by Wisconsin Watch, election workers Jeff and Lori Lutzka, right, process absentee ballots at Milwaukee's central count facility on Aug. 11, 2020.

Vote preferences among issue groups differ profoundly. Likely voters who cite the economy as their top issue favor Trump by overwhelming margins -- 88%-12% in Wisconsin and 78%-18% in Minnesota. By contrast, Biden wins about 90% of those who pick the pandemic as the most important issue. It's Trump by a huge margin among crime and safety voters; Biden by equally lopsided numbers among those focused on health care and equal treatment. The rationale for their campaign rhetoric seems clear.

Don't fool yourself! Republicans don't cause trouble like Democrats! We have too much self respect! Remember the silent majority showed their voice in 2016. It'll happen again 2020!

Whewwww go Joe Biden to win!!!

What are the cheeseheads smoking

No it’s not

MollyBeck Wisconsin voters need to return to their roots in standing for truth, fairness, the environment, science, and caring for their fellow citizens. trump doesn’t represent any of those things.

STOP TRYING TO MAKE THIS ELECTION INTO A HORSE RACE

It’s only close in Wisconsin because the liberals who are going to vote for Trump are terrified of the critical race theorists and wokescolds in Madison and Milwaukee, otherwise Wisconsin is Trump country.

Some Biden “crowd” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Since Clinton’s ex communications director held a Town hall for realDonaldTrump can we have a JoeBiden Town hall hosted by kayleighmcenany?

I can't understand why anyone would vote Democrat with the riots, looting, and defunded police...insane!!

Ustedes están desesperados por un gobierno progre o pedofilo o de un nuevo orden mundial, o mejor dicho un desorden mundial?, no sean tan ridiculos

This ABC News/Washington Post poll was conducted by landline and cellular telephone interviews Sept. 8-13, 2020, among random samples of 705 Minnesota registered voters, including 615 likely voters; and 702 Wisconsin registered voters, including 605 likely voters.Haha what a joke

Biden is winning Wisconsin in all polling. And he’s hitting 50%. This is huge. But...horse race.

Bullshit... Biden, sorry Harris will never win

Wisconsin is packed full of mindless fools who will back Trump all the way. It’s shameful that this fine state is so contaminated with stupidity.

TikTok-Oracle deal close to national security approvalA bid by Oracle to keep TikTok operating in the U.S. by becoming its technology partner doesn't include the payment to the U.S. Treasury demanded by President Trump, but a promise to create 20,000 jobs could satisfy the administration's demands. Either this was worded extremely clickbaity or I completely missed it, but I did not see anything about approval. That’s the same story that’s been out for a few hours now. Opinion: Breonna Taylor settlement is not close to justiceNothing will bring Taylor, by all accounts a shining ray of light, back to life -- or make her family and loved ones whole, writes Jill Filipovic. But the officers who killed her -- not the city -- can be held personally accountable, to restore a modicum of trust between the police and the public for whom they work.
