“In light of the current status of COVID-19, we believe it is important for us to make key adjustments to the remainder of our season,” the organization shared in its announcement.

on Wednesday, Jan. 12. Originally scheduled to take place in February, the classic play “The Three Musketeers” has been bumped back to run April 30-May 22. Another performance -- the world premiere of “I’m Back Now” -- has been pushed into CPH’s 2022-2023 season. The Play House hasn’t announced its upcoming season’s details yet.

The Play House will still present “Antigone” as planned in March, along with “Passage,” a show produced with the Case Western Reserve University and CPH Masters of Fine Arts program, set for March and early April. The New Ground Theatre Festival is also expected to take place this spring, according to the announcement.

“We hope you know this was a difficult decision; however, we are confident this shift will allow us the opportunity to deliver the innovative, joyous performances you’ve come to expect from Cleveland Play House.” CPH isn’t the only downtown theatre group making changes due to the surge.
