Cleveland Museum of Art recognizes injustices to Native Americans with ‘land acknowledgment,’ programs, exhibits

“WE ARE ALL ON NATIVE LAND,’’ the statement begins, in capital letters. It goes on to say that the museum occupies land in a region from which Native Americans were forcibly removed during colonial settlement and the Westward expansion that followed.

The group acknowledged that the team is considering changing the name, but were still trying to make people aware. Peter Jemison, of the Seneca Heron Clan.
