Chris Reid has been named the new Humble boys’ basketball coach.

Reid met with his team after being hired and is excited about the new journey of leading the Wildcats’ program.“They were very welcoming and exciting,” said Reid about meeting his new team. “I explained to them that I just want to build relationships with them and be the best coach I can be for them off and on the court. The lineage of coaches has been great, and I feel obligated to come in and work as hard as I can.

The 41-year-old wants to come in and lay the foundation for his culture on the hardwood for the Wildcats.The Wildcats had a 26-year playoff streak snapped and are looking to get back into the playoffs.Reid will step into a new program that will be in the toughest district in the state of Texas despite classification.

Atascocita has been to the state tournament the past two seasons and United moves up to Class 6A after spending two seasons in Class 5A where the Timberwolves have won back-to-back state titles. “I feel like being in a district like that will bring out the best of the kids, myself and the coaching staff,” said Reid about District 21-6A. “It’s all about competing at the highest level and night in and night out you always want a challenge. I have never shied away from a challenge.”
