LONDON - U.S. and European chipmakers fell sharply on Monday amid worries the Huawei Technologies suppliers may suspend shipments to the Chinese firm due to a U.S. crackdown.

The selling came after Nikkei Asian Review reported that Infineon had halted shipments to Huawei after Washington added the world’s No. 2 smartphone maker to a trade blacklist last week, imposing restrictions that will make it difficult to do business with U.S. companies. European chipmaker STMicroelectronics fell 8% to the bottom of Paris’ CAC 40, while Infineon Technologies dropped 4.5% on Frankfurt’s DAX 30. AMS was down 11.5% at 1240 GMT.

Even if companies can continue to sell components without being subject to U.S. restrictions, any disruption to Huawei’s operations will have a knock-on effect on its suppliers, said Liberum analyst Janardan Menon.

Google revokes Huawei's Android license: reportsAlphabet Inc.'s Google has revoked Huawei Technologies Inc.'s Android license, Reuters reported Sunday, in a move that could cripple the Chinese tech giant's smartphone business. The move was later confirmed by The Verge. Huawei will be restricted to using only the public, open-source version of Android, Reuters said. Effectively, it means that Huawei will be immediately cut off from receiving Android system updates, including security updates, and future versions of Huawei smartphones will not be able to use YouTube, Gmail and the Google Play store, among other features. Last week, the Trump administration moved to restrict U.S. technology sales to Huawei and certain other foreign-owned companies. U.S. is stepping up enforcement of delinquent student loansThe U.S. collected $3.3 billion of delinquent student debt in the first half of this fiscal year. That's up from $2.9 billion in the full year before. He’s not rich. He owes up to his eyeballs. Irony of student loan collection is colleges withhold your diploma until you pay the loan, but lack of a diploma keeps you from earning enough to pay it. Best case if you are delinquent in your payments, go to your U.S. attorneys office, and negotiate smaller payments with them. And they wonder why nobody wants to bear any children

Whale Regrets Eating 290,000 Plastic Poker Chips That Fell Off Container ShipATLANTIC OCEAN—Shifting uncomfortably in the water as it struggled with painful indigestion, a local fin whale expressed a growing sense of regret Wednesday after eating 290,000 plastic poker chips that had fallen from a container ship during a recent storm. “Ugh, polishing off all those little things was a huge mistake,” said the bloated whale, lamenting that it didn’t show more restraint and stop feeding after straining the first 100,000 small plastic discs through its baleen. “The red ones just looked so tasty, I couldn’t help myself. God, I scarfed down way too many tons of those things. What the hell was I thinking?” At press time, the contrite whale was vowing to stick to a strict diet of krill and the occasional radial tire. Dont worry it isnt her time yet she folded . AKA: SEC Recruiting .
