Chipotle workers in NYC are striking for better wages and schedulesSeveral dozen Chipotle workers at a handful of locations across New York City plan to rally in Midtown Thursday after striking this week for a $20 minimum wage and better scheduling practices at the national fast food chain.
Several workers who spoke with Gothamist described having their hours suddenly cut, and being denied full-time employment, at the same time the company was hiring scores of new workers to cover additional shifts. Striking workers are angling for $20 starting pay and predictable full-time schedules for those who want them.though they haven’t formally voted to unionize.
“Chipotle’s engaged and hard-working employees are what makes us great, and we encourage our employees to contact us immediately, including through an anonymous 800 number, with any concerns so we can investigate and respond quickly to make things right,” she said., which went into effect in 2017, is supposed to block fast food chains from changing workers schedules within two weeks of their shifts and from suddenly reducing their hours.
I suppose if a French fry maker at McDonald’s should get 15 an hour, then a burrito roller should get 20 at that rate. The person actually farming the ingredients used should be getting 150 an hour. Soon nobody will afford anything.
Hopefully not the chipotle by me. Those workers are lazy and incompetent. You would be amazed at how hard they make it look when scooping steak into a bowl
These clowns were paid just $9 an hour 2 years ago, now they want $20? What jobs are they going to have left when it costs $50 for a burrito? This is part of the reason inflation is so out of control. Americans demanded higher wages, they got them, yet still complaining.

If you want better wages, gain the kinds of skills that will get you a better job than Chipotle.
Chipotle's suggestion of 'calling an anonymous tip line' when you have a problem with your schedule is, in no way, helpful.
They should move on, those jobs suppose to be for high school and college students.
They should all strike and ask for 50 bucks an hour. Bidenflation going to get real tough soon
