Blinken calls China the most serious challenge to global orderWASHINGTON, May 26 - The United States will not block China from growing its economy, but wants it to adhere to international rules, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Thursday in a long-awaited speech on U.S. strategy to address China's rise as a great power.

Seventeen months into his administration Biden had faced criticism from Republicans and some foreign policy watchers for not announcing a formal strategy on China, the world's second-largest economy and Washington's main strategic rival. He laid out the contours of a strategy to invest in U.S. competitiveness and align with allies and partners to compete with China, calling that competition "ours to lose."

"China and the U.S. both stand to gain from cooperation and lose from confrontation," embassy spokesperson Liu Pengyu said.

No one takes the USA seriously anymore considering its massive crime problem.

You’re still aiding Saudi Arabia in the genocide in Yemen.

International rules 😂😂😂😂😂

'International rules' -- that's rich.

Who start trade war in the first place

A thief shouting out to catch the thief. US is notoriously known as the violator and breaker of basic norms governing international relations. It's the US that invaded Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and caused huge humanitarian sufferings. It's the US that withdrew WHO, etc at will.

I only see shit coming out of his mouth.

Reuters, do you know who overthrew these governments in South and Central America alone? If you do, shouldn't you make people aware? Any integrity left? Any of you?

Example of US sticking to rules.

Didn't America straight up steal oil tankers from Venezuela and Iran in the last couple years, on top of stealing Venezeula's gold stocks? What part of piracy is being cleared by international law?

Cliche.

Dear USA

That's bs. US has been trying to block China's growth by every means.

No confrontation? Is that why the US started selling offensive weapons to Taiwan against Beijing's protest?

international rules = trade war + arresting Huawei CFO + sanctions blacklist + chip embargo + paralyzing WTO … ?

Quad,Augusta,Huawei indicate that he’s lying,typical American politician.

Who is compelling us to obey the same laws?

I remember long ago when Reuters did great adversarial journalism in the run-up to the Iraq war. Now you are just sleazy stenographers.

You mean your rules Blinken and those of the USA

Oh, does he mean China is free to engage in state piracy too? What if China doesn't have that Anglo Saxon gene?

Imagine seeing Americas history of intervention, containment and invasion, their hegemonic status and not recognising the new 'war on major powers' China/Russia post 'war on terror' unfold before your eyes. How propgandised would you be to not see what this is.

International US rules? like stealing oil from iranian tankers on the sea? thats called piracy and has nothing to do with international rules!

Agreed if the international rules are set up internationally, not those set up by U.S. or the West. They do not represent the World.
