People wearing face masks to help protect against COVID-19 walk past an advertising billboard at a subway station during the morning rush hour in Beijing, Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2021. China's worst coronavirus outbreak since the start of the pandemic a year and a half ago escalated Wednesday with dozens more cases around the country, the sealing-off of one city and the punishment of its local leaders.
Now, the country is on high alert as an outbreak of cases connected to the international airport in the eastern city of Nanjing touched at least 17 provinces. China reported 71 new cases of COVID-19 from local transmission Wednesday, more than half of them in coastal Jiangsu province, of which Nanjing is the capital.
The city government’s Communist Party disciplinary committee on Wednesday issued a list of local officials who “had a negative impact” on pandemic prevention and control work who would be punished. After announcing last week that they were suspending issuance of passports for travelers except for those with an urgent need, officials at the National Immigration Administration reiterated the message again on Wednesday at a press briefing.
Oh dammit
dozens and their officials face consequences? how would that be?
The associated press knows that there are communities in China where there is no water or electricity, the doors are blocked, and the property can't go in regardless of takeout, and then the people in the community shout for help?
yes, it's true, but there's only dozens of people gets infected here in China, meanwhile, there's still thousands of people getting infected every day in United States and other Western countries, and it's getting even worse, think about yourself America😏😏😏
Is China being called to at least pay for vaccinations in the developing world? This started because they allowed the wet markets to operate with no health and safety standards(best case scenario)or lax security in the Wuhan lab(a possibility). Why aren’t we talking more about it?
“Will be punished.” Like Biden’s CDC threatening to throw landlords in jail if they remove non rent paying tenants? Sounds like China to me.
Yeah right ! China’s worst outbreak reported 30 some cases today, compared to over 140,000 in US today
all info according to CCP? Is a part of globaltimesnews?
None of this can be confirmed Most of this should be in quotations Get your act together
$5000 for the first 5 people to DM “Depressed
Their “worst” and it’s only “dozens” With a billion people and where the virus originated really makes one think
“Dozens”? That’s one diner in South Carolina…
Their 'worst' outbreak is 'dozens' around a country of over 1b people. If it was just dozens in any US state or county, we'd be celebrating that COVID was over... oh wait, we're already doing that and yet the numbers are many, many times 'dozens'
Dozens?
'China’s worst coronavirus outbreak ... with dozens more cases.' Speaking of human rights, clearly which gov. is putting people's lives and well being as priority.
Yeah, China is in deep shit. 'In terms of the absolute numbers, the largest excess mortality in our dataset was observed in the United States (640,000 by June 6, 2021'
Where is this information coming from? China itself? They can totally be trusted!!! HateMeGuys
Yet they still continue to eat bats & pangolin
