The House impeachment managers and White House counsel traded insults in the Senate, prompting a stern scolding from Chief Justice John Roberts

“Those addressing the Senate should remember where they are,' Roberts said.

WhatsApp The Senate exploded in acrimony after midnight on Wednesday as the House impeachment managers and White House counsel traded insults, prompting Chief Justice John Roberts to scold their lack of decorum during President Trump's impeachment trial. “I think it is appropriate at this point for me to admonish both the House managers and president’s counsel in equal terms to remember that they are addressing the world’s greatest deliberative body,” Roberts said, in a rare comment. “Those addressing the Senate should remember where they are.” Story Continued Below Roberts’ remarks came after a sharp exchange between House impeachment manager Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) and White House Counsel Pat Cipollone, amid debate over Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s amendment to subpoena former national security adviser John Bolton. Story Continued Below Nadler, the House Judiciary Committee Chairman, accused Senate Republicans of wanting to participate in a cover-up by blocking additional witnesses and documents. “History will judge and so will the electorate,” he said, prompting groans from Senate Republicans in the chamber. Cipollone chastised Nadler for his remarks and demanded that he apologize to the president, to the United States and the American people. “The only one who should be embarrassed, Mr. Nadler, is you for the way you’ve addressed this body,” Cipollone said, which prompted clapping. “This is the United States Senate. You’re not in charge here.” Burgess Everett contributed to this report. Read more: POLITICO

But it is a sham process 🤨 On the other hand: In 4 words: it's the economy stupid ! In 1 word: TRUMP2020Landside I hope he intends to weigh in on matters of much greater importance than this! What did he expect? This is a fight for our democracy. Politeness only goes so far. Not stern at all🙄 It certainly didn’t sound stern, and Sekulow went on to ignore it.

This far into the trial, I already feel this partisan sham will result in detrimental long term effects on Congress’s ability to work together. The chief justice handled it well, but did refer to the Senate as the world's greatest deliberative body. From what I seen, the average cub scout pack does it better.

Trumpublicans are going to be the death of our democracy. If that’s all he’s got, I couldn’t care less. He’s not relative in any real worthy way. Where's the real chief justice?

White House Calls Impeachment Charges ‘Frivolous’ and ‘Dangerous’ in Legal BriefPresident Trump’s legal team argued Monday that the articles of impeachment were frivolous and dangerous and should be swiftly rejected by the Senate. Irony. The entire Trump tenure can easily and accurately be labeled, 'frivolous: and 'dangerous.' Abuse of Power is an impeachable offense. Trump has proven time and time again that he is unfit to hold the office of president. He and his henchmen should not be allowed to commit crimes at will. Witnesses should testify. RemoveTrump

House Democrats call Trump filing on impeachment 'dead wrong' in new brief for Senate trialThe House on Monday submitted its rebuttal to the White House's argument that the impeachment articles are 'constitutionally invalid,' charging that the President's assertions the about the articles were 'chilling' and 'dead wrong.' And off to the SUPREME COURT it goes.

What Has Changed Since House Vote to ImpeachInformation that has emerged since the House passed impeachment articles suggests that the effort to press Ukraine to announce investigations into Joe Biden and his son reached further into the president’s inner circle than previously known. Cult45 doesn’t care. They drank the kool aid, they are all in on idiocracy. Throw the bum out.

House Democrats file brief calling Trump's behavior 'the Framer's worst nightmare'House managers in the impeachment trial of President Trump filed their brief to the Senate, calling the president's behavior 'the Framers' worst nightmare' and said his actions present a 'danger to our democratic processes.' BS and Fake News at its Best. Shame Everyone who put their hate of the POTUS above All, even above the Enemies Of The USA. The 'House managers' are now just trying to somehow justify their witch hunt, which didn't turn out to be quite as popular as they thought it would be. Seems this time they picked on the wrong witch.

The New Evidence That Has Emerged Since House Vote to ImpeachInformation disclosed since the House passed impeachment articles suggests that the effort to press Ukraine to announce investigations into Joe Biden and his son reached further into the president’s inner circle than previously known. Do you think the Congress and the United States Media Services should be investigated for submitting evidence for an impeachment trial to the Press first and not to the Congress or Senate? Considering most of the Senate is most likely willing participants in this corruption, the new evidence will be ignored It is just like before...a bunch oh hot air in hopes that it will get people to see Dem way
