CHICAGO -- Plans to build a casino in Chicago's River West neighborhood were approved overwhelmingly by a city council committee Monday.
The special casino committee voted 27-3 to approve the Bally's casino. Aldermen Reilly, Hopkins and Smith voted against the measure.on a proposal they worry will increase traffic and crime.The development would replace the Chicago Tribune printing plant along the Chicago River at Chicago Avenue and Halsted Street in River West.Note: The video in the player above is from a previous report.
10 Casino’s wouldn’t even put a dent into that city’s financial woes. Who the hell is going to to risk their life to venture down to that crime ridden hell hole.
The aldermen really didn’t say yea or nay. Sounded more like “Where’s mine?”
-Hey, what should we do to lower crime rates? -hmm…I don’t know how about we build a huge casino so we can cause more people to get gambling problems and go into debt! -that sounds like a GREAT idea!
