Chance The Rapper during an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Oct. 24, 2019.The Chicago MC took to Twitter on Saturday to address protests in Los Angeles, New York, San Jose, Atlanta and Washington, D.C., where citizens are flooding the streets over the death of unarmed black man George Floyd at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer.
"If you hold a pen at a publication, this is the time be carefully intent with your words. Do not demonize the people that are being beat and battered in the streets," Chance wrote."Damaging property is not violent. But the actions of the state have been. It must be documented justly." Earlier this week, a video of Floyd's death surfaced showing Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin kneeling on the neck of Floyd for eight minutes. Chauvin was later charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter in the death of Floyd.
Some of the protests over Floyd's death have resulted in property damage, looting and traffic disruption, while many others have been peaceful. If you hold a pen at a publication, this is the time be carefully intent with your words. Do not demonize the people that are being beat and battered in the streets. Damaging property is not violent. But the actions of the state have been. It must be documented justly.
Protesting is one thing and I say flood the streets in peaceful protest, but, I wholeheartedly don’t think people should be burning down buildings and looting, I understand why, but, VOTE these complicit politicians out.
The way his album FLOPPED
He‘s right. White people feel more emotional connection to a Target than they do to black lives. And that’s a shame. BLACK_LIVES_MATTER
LMAO I would love to see him telling this while watching his own home, cars, etc. being destroyed, looted and set on fire in livestreaming

Rapper Killer Mike addresses Atlanta protestersKiller Mike made an emotional plea for calm Friday night as a protest in Atlanta against police brutality turned violent. Ironic that his name is 'Killer' and he wants protests to end I see you didn't lead (or mention?) his point that CNN (YOU GUYS) share huge responsibility for inciting AntiFa riots with your FakeNews, race-baiting and fear mongering. Odd you left that out.
