2020 has been a year for the ages. That means this August is primed to be the dooziest of doozies.

ELECTION SECURITY EXPERT SAYS 2016 WAS 'WORST CASE SCENARIO' FOR PUBLIC'S CONFIDENCE IN ELECTIONS, REMAINS 'BIGGEST CHALLENGE' IN 2020

The only thing which could have been stranger are throngs of people in the streets of Charlotte or Jacksonville for a somewhat conventional convention. President Trump pushed for that – until it was clear it couldn’t happen during a pandemic. The Democratic convention is now mostly online. A version of April’s NFL draft. Will Roger Goodell introduce Joe Biden’s VP pick? There’s a substantial chance Biden selects someone from Capitol Hill as his running mate. Possibly Sens.

The war in Syria forced lawmakers to return to Washington in 2013 for top-secret briefings as the Obama Administration contemplated the use of military force. Hurricane Katrina fractured the 2005 August recess as lawmakers returned to Capitol Hill to approve additional aid money. Katrina emerged as one of the most seminal, signature events in August, altering the course of near-term political history.

Of course, mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton, Ohio, rocked the nation last August. Some lawmakers even suggested reconvening Congress to address gun violence. But, as is often the case with firearms legislation, it goes nowhere on Capitol Hill. Lots of Congressional noise after a mass shooting. Little action. It’s doubtful another earthquake will shake Washington. But something just as seismic is on tap.

Talks with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi , Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer , Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows launched this August’s zaniness. Pelosi hosted a meeting in her office suite at the Capitol at 9 am, on Saturday, August 1. No staff allowed. It’s unclear if or when the sides could forge an accord. It may take several weeks to hash things out.

August could be key in Latin America's coronavirus fightAcross Latin America, skyrocketing new infection numbers are reaching even the highest circles, a sign of how pervasive the coronavirus has become -- and how ineffective many government efforts have been to stop it so far. Show dumbass that businesses in America are hiring everywhere. Take pictures, I’m doing it in MN. 70% of businesses are looking to hire just in Ramsey County. Politics is running “jobless America”. We all know that’s NOT true. I just said it is stupid to publish president's tax returns to public because it exposes the presidency to attack. Presidency should be protected. Facebook banned me. All Mark Zuk cares about is stock price & has total disregard for free speech. FB is far worse than Nazi gestapo why china do a good job ?why?
