The CDC is presenting 'two acceptable alternatives' to the original 14-day quarantine period for those exposed to the virus.

These recommendations apply to people who qualify as “close contacts” of someone infected with Covid-19, “someone who was within 6 feet of an infected person for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period starting from 2 days before illness onset.” The CDC’s previous two-week recommendation stemmed from what scientists originally believed to be the incubation period of the virus.show the median incubation of Covid-19 is five days, but some patients only see symptoms after two weeks.
