The CDC has extended its nationwide eviction moratorium until July 31, just six days before it was set to expire

The Biden administration had come under increasing pressure in recent days to prevent a wave of evictions once the ban expires. A group of 44 House Democrats on Tuesdayto buy state and local officials more time to disburse more than $46 billion in emergency rental assistance allocated by Congress.

More than six million renter households are behind on rent, according to a recent survey by the Census Bureau, and much of the federal aid has not been distributed. State and local programs have been overwhelmed with requests for the funds even as housing advocates report that plenty of renters and mom-and-pop landlords don’t know about the programs or are having trouble applying for them.

The CDC first issued the ban in September, citing a public health law that gives the agency certain powers to prevent communicable diseases from crossing state lines. Before Thursday, Congress and the White House had extended it three times. Landlords have challenged the moratorium in courts around the country. The Supreme Court has not acted yet on a petition by property owners to block a stay on overturning the ban. The coalition said landlords are losing over $13 billion a month because of the moratorium.“The eviction moratorium is providing essential protections to millions of renters during the pandemic," he said.

CDC extends eviction moratorium a month, says it's last timeThe Biden administration has extended the nationwide ban on evictions for a month to help tenants who are unable to make rent payments during the coronavirus pandemic, but it said this is expected to be the last time it does so. Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, extended the evictions moratorium from June 30 until July 31. The CDC said Thursday that “this is intended to be the final extension of the moratorium.” And then what? Because that's not going to solve the problem. There should be a similar ban on paying association fees and real estate taxes then until the ban on eviction ends.

CDC Advisory Group Says ‘Likely Association’ Between mRNA Covid-19 Vaccines and Rare Myocarditis CasesCenters for Disease Control and Prevention advisers said there is a “likely association” between Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna’s mRNA Covid-19 vaccines and an inflammatory heart condition in some younger individuals, but noted that cases were rare and that most patients quickly felt better. Really…? I had Moderna as an early CDC group inoculation at Chestnut Hill of Highlands in Highlands, NC, USA, completed inoculation on 2-19-2021. Had brachycardia - Mission Hospitals (an HCA affiliate) refused to treat. Still experiencing symptoms & Chestnut is trying to evict me COVID19 On the other hand, COVID very often kills. Young people take your chances with the vaccine. IMO.
