Cases of vaping-linked breathing problems now reported in 8 states, mostly in the Midwest

More cases of severe lung damage and breathing problems linked to vaping have been reported across the country, with doctors and health officials now investigating cases in at least eight states: California, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin.or young adults who come to the hospital with symptoms of a bad respiratory infection: shortness of breath, chest pain, fatigue and coughing.

“We were aware of reports in other states, so we proactively sent a message to Iowa doctors and health professionals to be on the lookout,” said Dr. Caitlin Pedati, state epidemiologist and public health medical director for the Iowa Department of Public Health.Indiana health officials are also looking into six possible cases.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says it’s working with several of the Midwestern states, as well as California.Doctors in Michigan tell NBC News they’ve had an increasing number of cases recently, and some are quite severe. Some patients have experienced bleeding in their lungs and have needed life support.

It actually has been reported what was being used in these cases, and national news media outlets are still bombarding social media with grossly inaccurate and damaging headlines that are going to result in people dying due to fear mongering.

If the vapor gets too hot I could definitely see this happening. Generally a good vap has very little or no smoke, smoke means its much hotter than intended.

It’s weird how it’s got like this is a safe version of smoking. Why is smoking still a thing in 2019?
