In the two years since I left Nola, I’ve searched for this recipe in hopes of recreating it for myself. Nothing came close until this. I omitted the honey because it was plenty sweet as is. Next time I may slightly reduce the sugar and add maple syrup. Thanks F&W. Now convince Mason Hereford to make a cookbook.

Has a very exotic taste, in a good way. I did substitute pomegranate molasses for the honey because I wanted the more intense color and the additional flavor. Would be great either way. Worth investing in the spices if you don’t already have them. Will be sharing it with my kids and grandkids. Most people may want to make just half a recipe. Enjoy.
