You will be a beat reporter, capable of digging up scoops and diving into features or investigations. You will cultivate sources within the government and biomedical research community to generate enterprise stories. Your articles will be clear, accurate and high-impact. You will think of the best way to tell stories, including with data graphics and images. And you will be enthusiastic about covering US science policy and comfortable with working in a deadline-driven, high-pressure environment.
Reporting to the Americas Bureau Chief, you will be part of a top-notch, highly collaborative and global team of science journalists. Your stories will be published online and in print.Turns in clear, accurate, well-structured copy for breaking news stories and quick-turnaround news analyses, as well as long-form features.Cultivates sources in order to be proactive, rather than only reactive, to news coverage.Contributes to an inclusive, collegial work environment.
